CEO says Sberbank gets through data leak with minimum losses

SOCHI, Oct 10 (PRIME) -- Russia’s biggest lender Sberbank had minimal losses from a client data leak, CEO German Gref said at the Finopolis forum of innovative technologies on Thursday.

“We weathered it with short losses, we’ve managed to understand what had happened in a few hours. As soon as we complete investigation into the incident, we will certainly gather and share all details with everyone,” Gref said.

Sberbank admitted leakage of personal data of at least 200 customers on October 3, after media reports. Sellers said that they owned data on 60 million credit cards, both valid and closed. An employee of the bank was later detained, and confessed.

Director of the legal department Igor Kondrashov said that Sberbank had received no claims over the leak from its customers.
